What it is
AWS funds the cost of moving existing workloads onto its platform. The funding is sized against your annual cloud spend, today on your current platform and on AWS after the move, and released in phases: an assessment, the migration itself, and modernisation of what moves. It pays for the engineers who do the work, delivered by our approved migration partner. Nothing is paid to you directly and nothing is owed back. At the end you own the migrated product, the infrastructure and the documentation.
Who it is for
Your product is live, you have paying customers, and you are running on Azure, Google Cloud, Heroku, Render, DigitalOcean or your own servers. Annual cloud spend between $24,000 and $500,000. AWS funds up to a quarter of that in services and up to another quarter in migration work. This track is quick. Approval can come inside a week.
Annual cloud spend above $100,000, with a structured migration of servers, databases, storage or an SAP, Oracle or VMware estate. This is the AWS Migration Acceleration Program. It is larger, runs in three formal phases and takes two weeks to three months.

What gets funded
A readiness review of your current setup, a migration plan and a business case. On the startup track this alone can be funded up to $10,000.
Moving your workloads onto AWS: rehost, replatform or refactor, depending on what you need.
Targeted improvements to what moves, so you land on infrastructure that scales rather than a copy of what you had.
Cost, reliability and performance checks once you are live.
Funding is released as each phase completes, so the work is paid for as it is delivered.
How it works

Our approved migration partner meets you, looks at your current platform and sizes the funding against your billing. This is where the number gets set.

The scope goes to AWS. Startup track approvals can land within a week. The larger programme takes longer.

The work is done in phases by our approved migration partner. You get the migrated product, documentation and a roadmap for what to do next on AWS.
Why now
Every month on the current platform is a month of hosting bills, technical debt and lock-in that AWS would have paid to remove. The funding is sized on your cloud bill today, so it does not grow by waiting. Most founders never apply because they assume the programme is for enterprises. Half of it is for companies exactly your size.
